For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a creative spirit. I can’t think of a time when I haven’t drawn, dreamed, painted, and created… AND…I’ve always LOVED jewelry. My first “real” job was working the counter of a jewelry store. The owners were inspiring and so talented. I had never seen a bench jeweler at work before then, and to say I was in complete awe would be an understatement. That early fascination blossomed into a lifelong passion for creating unique, handmade, artisan jewelry. As the artist behind The Amethyst Moon, I pour my heart and soul into every piece, crafting wearable art that embodies the Earthy, Mystical, and Bohemian spirit.
My creative process is deeply rooted in intuition and connection with the natural world. I embrace the “wild woman” within, finding inspiration in the untamed beauty of nature. From the rugged coastline to the serene depths of the forest, the sensory experiences of the natural world fuel my creativity. I am drawn to the energy and inherent beauty of rocks, crystals, and gemstones, hand-selecting each one for its unique character and vibrational resonance. Often, a found object—a piece of driftwood from the beach or a unique stone from the woods—becomes the catalyst for a special, one-of-a-kind creation.
My jewelry reflects the raw beauty of the earth, incorporating a variety of metals, including copper, fine silver, sterling silver, brass, and 14kt gold. I love the interplay of these materials, blending their unique textures and tones to create pieces that are both rustic and refined. My designs range from delicate rings and necklaces to statement earrings and bracelets, including my beloved cuffs, which are a personal favorite to create and wear.
True to my creative spirit, I don’t adhere to a single technique or style. I combine the time-tested skills of a silversmith with the innovative flair I developed working with metal on a larger scale in the sign industry. I also embrace the organic, free-flowing process of electroforming, often blending these techniques to create truly unique and captivating pieces. This fusion of traditional and non-traditional methods allows me to push the boundaries of my craft and explore new possibilities in metal artistry.
The Amethyst Moon is more than just a jewelry line; it’s an extension of my love for nature and a reflection of my personal journey. Each piece is imbued with the energy of the earth and the spirit of the “wild woman,” offering a selection of beautiful earthy jewelry and adornments for the body, crystals and stones for the spirit, and unique artisan décor for the home.
